Innu Healing Video (en)
Enlisting the aid of Sheshatshiu school students, who spoke of their hopes and dreams, and painted vivid pictures on giant paper, HyperActive explained the need for recreation centres through their eyes, reinforcing the message thanks to a variety of people involved in developing the healing strategies making a difference in these Innu communities. Brochure
This brochure, based on the Case for Support, was designed to be a simple, informative "leave-behind" for fund-raisers. HyperActive kept the design approach low-key and straightforward, not wanting "high end" print materials to work against the "ask". |
English and French Videos, Print Materials, Website. Create momentum for fund-raising in a challenging environment - Labrador's Davis Inlet Innu communities. Support the concept of a major national fundraising campaign that would build hockey arenas in Innu communities in order to help young people move away from the gas sniffing and alcohol abuse that has occupied the media recently. Give the "voice" of the campaign to the Innu of tommorrow - children hoping for a brighter future. Show the purpose and strategy of the hockey arenas in a broad social healing context, and in the context of a matrix of strategies designed to turn these communities around. HyperActive researched, designed, and wrote a global Case for Support, all print materials associated with the fund raising process, an evocative seven-minute video, and a website promoting two recreation complexes for young people in these communities. The campaign was an enormous success, raising over $12 million in a far shorter time frame than the organizers had hoped for. Key volunteers on the "campaign trail" including The Honourable John Crosbie and Brian Tobin, cited the video in particular as a key leverage tool for their fund raising visits to government, business, and wealthy individuals. |
