4-minute English and 4-minute French Films, 90-second Theater Commercials, 60-second Television Commercials, Radio Commercials, English and French Website. To help Canadians celebrate International Year of the Volunteer in 2001 and to begin a process of dialogue with Canadians about this essential sector of our society. Position volunteering as THE critical activity that makes this nation strong; Help people define themselves in the context of volunteering: many are actively engaged yet don’t identify their involvement as volunteerism. A 4-minute film, "The Power of One" (English, French and bilingual); 60-second TV PSA’s (English and French); 90-second 35mm theatre spot (English and French); National radio PSA’s (English and French); User-friendly IYV website, complete with interactive quizzes and polls and an ordering mechanism for materials. "The Power of One" was featured during the 2001 Canada Day celebrations live on Parliament Hill, on CBC/Radio Canada and was shown on over 15,000 Air Canada flights that summer. PSA airings were strong and consistent from coast to coast. Web traffic was strong throughout the year (25,000 visits per month, on average). Three years later, "The Power of One" is still considered the most powerful film on volunteerism ever developed in this country. |
